Raise the roof.
If you’re thinking about building a new house, you’ll be happy to hear that financing new construction just got a little easier. In the past, most consumers relied on lines of credit to finance their construction project. Once the home was completely built, they had to apply for a second loan to pay off the line of credit.
Thankfully, now there’s a better way to build.
Introduced in 2018, Ameritrust’s USDA Construction Financing gives you a simple way to finance all of your construction costs with just one loan and a single review of your finances.
1. You meet with the builder to spec out a new home and agree on the price. The lot may be buyer-owner, builder-owned, or obtained from a third party at closing.
2. You work with an Ameritrust loan officer to apply for a loan based on the appraised value of the finished home.
3. We’ll underwrite your loan just once, about a month before closing, saving you from the long-term scrutiny of your spending habits throughout the construction phase. Keep in mind that your credit quality, including debt-to-income ratio, must remain acceptable per program guidelines through the closing of your loan.
4. Since your USDA Construction loan covers both construction and purchase costs, you can bypass the time-consuming process of applying for another mortgage. Instead, you get to focus on moving into your new home!
Ameritrust is proud to be among the first lenders in the nation to offer this program and we back it with a high rate of customer satisfaction. In fact, on a five-star scale, 97% of Ameritrust customers rated their experience with us four stars or higher*.
Our loan officers will be happy to tell you more about your financing options and explain how the process will go. Then we’ll help you find an affordable loan so you can get to work on building your new home just the way you like it.
Ready to get started? Please apply online or fill out a form, and someone from our team will reach out to walk through the process with you.
